The Canterbury is a 5 eyelet, two-tone u-throat oxford. The u-throat oxford offers a point of difference from the classic straight-cap, yet its restrained ornamentation means that it remains an excellent formal shoe. The u-throat style is suited perfectly to a two-tone design, both colours harmonising to great effect. With its finely bevelled waist and clean, angular shape, it is a sleek and refined shoe. The Canterbury is crafted on Edward Green’s 82 last, designed by master shoemaker Tony Gaziano. It has a slim, tapered round toe. The fine stitching and minutely punched brogueing show the attention to detail for which Edward Green are famous. A striking and distinctive Oxford, the Canterbury is a shoe for the discerning gentleman.
Established in a small Northampton factory in 1890, Edward Green has gained a deserved reputation for ‘making the finest shoes in England for the discerning few’. Edward Green’s shoes are made with the finest calfskin to the highest standards of workmanship. Each pair takes several weeks to create and many master craftsmen are involved.
