The Galway is an eight-eyelet derby boot with a straight faux toecap. With its combination of a soft tobacco suede shaft and a chestnut antique calf galosh, it is a wonderfully refined boot. Despite its elegant appearance, the Galway features a Dainite rubber sole, making it extremely hard-wearing. This rubber sole is lightly bevelled down at the waist so as to retain the fine silhouette that sets it apart. The Galway is crafted on Edward Green’s classic 202 last and has a balanced round toe. Its sculpted shape and outstanding finishing make the Galway perfect for most days and are an excellent match with cords, chinos and denim. The open lacing of the boot also makes the Galway a good option for those with a high instep.
Established in a small Northampton factory in 1890, Edward Green has gained a deserved reputation for ‘making the finest shoes in England for the discerning few’. Edward Green’s shoes are made with the finest calfskin to the highest standards of workmanship. Each pair takes several weeks to create and many master craftsmen are involved.
