The Falkirk is a 5 eyelet spectator shoe The term ‘spectator shoe’ refers to a two-tone full-brogue oxford, a style that enjoyed great popularity during the 1920s and 30s. In its heyday it was notorious as a shoe favoured by rakes, cads and womanisers. Although it has outgrown such notoriety, it remains a shoe for the debonair gentleman. The Falkirk is crafted on Edward Green’s 202 last, their classic English round-toed design. With its soft, smooth curves, the 202 exemplifies the shapely form of the traditional English Oxford.
Established in a small Northampton factory in 1890, Edward Green has gained a deserved reputation for ‘making the finest shoes in England for the discerning few’. Edward Green’s shoes are made with the finest calfskin to the highest standards of workmanship. Each pair takes several weeks to create and many master craftsmen are involved.
