Simonnot Godard
In 1787, before you were born, Simonnot-Godard was founded in France. In 1830 the company was bought by Auguste Godard. The Godards had three warehouses; one each in Cambrai, Valenciennes and Bapaume, all in Northern France. The main factory was in Valenciennes. Godard’s daughter married Victor Simonnot, and this man joined the company and added his name to it. Simonnot Godard weaves luxury cotton and linen handkerchiefs that are perhaps the finest examples of their type.
