Shoe trees may seem like an annoying expense when you have just forked out a chunk of cash for some shoes – it is annoying – but if you don’t have a good pair of trees you may as well not have spent so much on your shoes, because they’ll look like crap soon enough! Shoe trees are the most important aspect of shoe care. They should be in your shoes whenever your feet are not. The better they fit, the better they will work: stretching out the creases, pushing the toe back down, and restoring the general shape of the shoe. These particular ones are made in the US from raw cedar, which will help draw moisture from your shoes as well as making them smell forest fresh. They are the original Alden shoe trees and feature a plaque with the Alden crest.
Alden: the greatest American shoemaker, period. Charles H Alden founded The Alden Shoe Company in Middleborough, Massachusetts in 1884. Throughout the company’s history, Alden has relied upon maintaining its reputation for high-quality craftsmanship. While most shoe manufacturing shifted overseas during the latter 20th Century, Alden has prospered as a maker of comfortable, durable and handsome dress shoes.
