With so many classic styles, it is hard to designate the definitive Alden model, but if we absolutely had to it would be the longwing blucher. This shoe is so much a part of US shoemaking that the concept of American style would be incomplete without it. This particular model, made with genuine Horween Color 8 Cordovan, is the classic version of the shoe. Built on the roomy Barrie last, this is a bulky yet elegant style: the Cadillac of the shoe world. It is meant to be a workhorse of a shoe, yet the unique longwing design makes it dressy enough to wear to a wedding. Featuring a double leather sole and water resistant welt design, it is also great in all weather. A shoe you can wear in any conditions and will make you look like a boss in any context; what more could you want? Alden: the greatest American shoemaker, period. Charles H Alden founded The Alden Shoe Company in Middleborough, Massachusetts in 1884. Throughout the company’s history, Alden has relied upon maintaining its reputation for high-quality craftsmanship. While most shoe manufacturing shifted overseas during the latter 20th Century, Alden has prospered as a maker of comfortable, durable and handsome dress shoes.
